ACTING – Drama (ages 7-11)

Da Vinci Academy is a place where all children, from the shy to the outgoing can develop at their own pace, with plenty of positive encouragement.

Drama unlocks the imagination, improves self-esteem and boosts confidence.

Our drama program includes improvisation, role play, acting games and creative thinking to inspire the kids to make up characters, tell stories and explore their world using acting and performance activities. Every week they create unique situations, characters and scenes.

ACTING – Young Actors Club (ages 13-17)

The Young Actors Club is an acting class for teens who are extremely passionate about acting.

Learn how to unlock your imagination and emotions, be honest, truthful, and natural in a scene, bring the script and characters to life. In other words, to become the best actor you can be!

Once a year, you get the opportunity to both act on the stage (theatre), and become an actor in a short film.

DANCE – Ballet (ages 5-17)

Ballet is the basis of all dance technique. We make learning ballet fun for all age groups. Younger students learn the basics, including stretching, locomotor skills, rhythm and timing, and proper positions of the feet and arms, with creative exploration. As ballet students progress, the emphasis is on basic discipline for ballet skills with concentration on barre exercises, center work, adagio, allegro and both short and long ballet combinations set to classical music.

Each year (around April), students get to show off their skills in an annual dance performance at Cas di Cultura.

DANCE – Jazz (ages 8-17)

If you really want to move, this is your class! Beginning jazz dancers learn the fundamentals of body isolations, walks, runs, jumps, turns, and leaps set to upbeat modern music. As students advance, combinations become longer and much more complex.

Jazz is energetic and fun, full of energy, expressiveness and physical conditioning.

Each year (around April), students get to show off their skills in an annual dance performance at Cas di Cultura.

Comfortable clothes to wear during class, jazz shoes are recommended. Each year we have a show in Cas di Cultura, which requires the purchase of a costume. The cost of a costume is approximately Afl. 150-200.

MUSIC – Piano (ages 6-17)

Learning to play the piano musically requires much more than just learning to play the right notes. It requires careful and proper development of hands, ears, mind and heart.

The piano is one of the most versatile instruments out there and one of the most beautiful sounding.

All piano students must have an instrument to practice at home. Ideally, this is an acoustic piano (upright or grand piano). A good alternative would be a digital piano. The entry level option is a keyboard, but please discuss this with the teacher, as some keyboards are not suitable.

MUSIC – Pop Up Girls Choir (ages 9-12)

Sing your favorite pop songs together with other girls who love to sing just as much as you do. Learn a good breathing technique, improve your vocal skills and presentation. Let’s have some vocal fun during this girls-only class. And last but not least…singing is guaranteed to make you feel better!

THEATRE – Musical Theatre (ages 8-17)

This class explores chorus singing, solo singing, ensemble theater games, creative movement, character development, staging, and working together to create a strong stage performance. Students will learn and memorize scenes and songs from musicals in a theater ensemble.

Each year (around April), students get to experience the thrill of performing in an annual stage performance at Cas di Cultura.

VISUAL ARTS – Art Class (ages 6-17)

This class is the perfect opportunity to explore different materials, including acrylic paint, oil pastels, water color and mixed media. Small class sizes and plenty of individual attention ensure students learn at their own pace and level.

Materials and supplies are provided. Once a year, students will have the chance to exhibit their art work at our Mini Expo.

Learn about the power of observation and how to draw. In this class, you will learn fundamental techniques to draw accurately as well as how to observe and recognize the world around in a creative way. If you are a beginner but serious about learning how to draw, this class is for you.
